This guide is for email hosted with a cPanel hosting account. Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 mailboxes are created and managed through their own services.
- Sign in to your cPanel hosting account and open Email Accounts.
- Select Create, choose the address and set a strong, unique password and suitable storage allowance.
- After creating the mailbox, select Connect Devices beside it to view its connection settings.
Use the Secure SSL/TLS Settings shown for that mailbox. Use the full email address as the username and the mailbox password, not the cPanel password. Copy the exact server names, encryption and port settings supplied there rather than guessing them.
IMAP is generally suitable when accessing the same mailbox from several devices. Do not change an existing POP setup or remove its account without checking where historical messages are stored.
If you see a certificate warning, stop and send the details to support rather than accepting an untrusted certificate or disabling encryption.
See cPanel’s current connection guide. If you are unsure which provider hosts your mail, email support@abpages.com before changing settings.
