These instructions replace the older Outlook 2007 video and apply to setting up a cPanel-hosted mailbox in a current version of Outlook for Windows.
- Check that the mailbox exists, then open cPanel > Email Accounts > Connect Devices. Keep its recommended Secure SSL/TLS Settings available.
- In classic Outlook, choose File > Add Account. If manual setup is required, use Advanced options to configure the account with the mailbox settings. In new Outlook, use Settings > Accounts to add the account.
- Use the full email address and mailbox password. If prompted for manual settings, enter the exact server names, ports and encryption shown for your mailbox.
- Check both receiving and sending once setup is complete.
IMAP is usually appropriate for synchronising a mailbox across devices. Before changing or removing an existing account, check whether messages are stored locally, particularly with POP.
Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace accounts use their own provider sign-in methods; do not apply these cPanel settings to them. Do not bypass certificate warnings or disable encryption to complete setup.
See Microsoft’s current Outlook instructions and cPanel’s mail-client guide. Contact support if you need help confirming the correct account type.
